CD103, also know as integrin, alpha-E (ITGAE) binds integrin beta 7 (ß7-ITGB7) to form the complete heterodimeric integrin molecule alphaEß7. The nondepleting CD103 monoclonal antibody, M290, binds a discrete and stable subset of human CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Expression by these cells is initiated and maintained by bioactive TGF-β. Immunotoxins made with this antibody help identify the role of integrin CD103 in promoting organ allograft rejection and in graft-versus-host disease.
